At the Judd Hotel we look to provide you with a great product and service from start to finish, and we take our commitments and responsibilities to you as both a guest and customer extremely seriously, including protecting and respecting your privacy.

This privacy policy applies to the Judd Hotels website at juddhotelbloomsbury.com (the “Website”) as well as all and any data collecting and processing within our hotel.

By using the Website or by purchasing a stay in our hotels you consent to this policy.

Our hotel is managed by our company Benit Limited, and for the purposes of the GDPR our data controller is Benit Limited.

3. Personal Data Collected by Us

We will collect personal data on this Website or within our hotel only if it is directly provided to us by you the customer. We may collect personal data on you and members of your party such as; contact details (e.g. your name, e-mail address, telephone number, address) personal information (e.g. date of birth, nationality) your payment information (e.g. credit card details for transaction and reservation purposes) your comments during or following a stay (e.g. preferences or complaints). Any such personal data is only collected when you purchase a stay in one of our hotels, during hotel activities (e.g. making a booking, check in, paying for a booking) or data transmitted to us by a third party such as a tour operator or online travel agent (OTA). Therefore, all of the personal data we collect, or receive from a third party, has been provided by you with your consent, and is directly relevant to your booking and the service we provide to you.

On our website we also use anonymised and unidentifiable analytical and statistical tools that monitor details of your visits to our website and the resources that you access, including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data.

We do not normally have reason to collect sensitive personal data, such as race, religion, or political affiliations. However, if ever we did have reason to collect such information we would not use or disclose it without your explicit consent.

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements.

  • Internally and within our hotel; Only reception staff and senior members of hotel management will have access to your information, purely to enable us to provide our services to you under your booking.
  • External providers; certain information may be provided to external providers under our services and commitment to you (e.g. IT contractors, reservation software providers, banks, credit card issuers)
  • The Authorities; if required by law or part of an enquiry, we may be obliged to send your personal data to the relevant authorities. These may include local law enforcement authorities or emergency and medical services.

6. Storage, Transfer and Security of Your Information

As part of the services offered to you, for example through our Website or during your stay at one of our hotels, and due to the nature of web or “Cloud” based storage, if necessary the information you provide to us may be transferred to and stored in countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) as we may use remote website server hosts to provide the website and some aspects of our service. If we transfer or store your personal data outside the EEA, we will take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected, as outlined in this privacy policy and in accordance with the DPA and GDPR.

Your information may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for one of our suppliers (e.g. our website server host) or working for us when temporarily outside of the EEA.

In the event that the hotel is to be sold to a third party, all personal data held by us will be transferred along with any other associated assets to the buyer. Should this happen however, any such transfer will be strictly on the terms that confidentiality of all data continues to be protected by the terms of this privacy policy.

The transmission of information via the Internet or email is not completely secure. We will always do our best to protect any personal data collected and stored by us using appropriate procedures, technology and security features to protect your information and to prevent any breach or unauthorised access. In the event of any such breach or unauthorised access being brought to our attention, wherever practical and appropriate, we commit to informing you and to reporting said breach or unauthorised access to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We also commit to performing a thorough internal audit and investigation to prevent such breaches or unauthorised access reoccurring in the future.

There is no charge for any reasonable request, and we will deal with your request as quickly as practicably possible and in accordance with any applicable law.
